Open House & End of Year Solstice Celebration

Sunday June 18, 2017 from 1-4pm with End of Year Presentation at 3pm
Visit Sassafras for fun activities, earth skills, games, explore old and new trails, enroll for programs, and meet our staff and friends.

At our Open House we like to welcome anyone interested in, or supportive of what we do at Sassafras; nature connection, and building community around that thru culture repair and leadership training, to meet  a challenging future. This year we are appreciating everyone that came to Sassafras in a beautiful “End of Year Presenting Circle”. All programs will be sharing something they have worked on. If you have children, partners, family or friends, consider being there to witness them. In that way, you help build that culture.

Other Events

Sassafras hosts a variety of events and gatherings throughout the seasons: Pot-Lucks, Family Days, and Musical Events, to name a few. We honor the Earth’s transitions by celebrating the Solstices and Equinoxes. Music and Creativity holds a special place in our hearts, because we believe its important to encourage the younger generations in their creative expressions and stepping into their gifts. We like to offer live music, dance, storytelling and other creative-art forms, a central place in our community. Creativity propels change.

Sassafras encourages conscious cultural change, for example, by acknowledging people’s transitions in life. We do this through processes that witness and honor people during important passages in their lives. We are re-claiming our “Rite of Passage”.
